DeveloPassion's Newsletter #129 - Riding Ocean Waves

Welcome

Another week, another newsletter! I hope that you all had a great one 🤩

This week has been quite FUN. I've had a bunch of coaching sessions with "students" coming from all walks of life. Each session is different, and I feel like I'm learning as much as I'm sharing. This is definitely one of my most positive outcomes this year!

This edition of the newsletter will be a really short one, as I'm going on vacation real soon. I still have a long list of things to prepare! Still, I wanted to be in your inbox as usual. During the next two weeks, I'll either pass, or will just send an edition with interesting links, I haven't decided yet.

Alright, let's gooooo 🚀

The lab 🧪

This month has been quite interesting for the lab. With the increasing success of my PKM coaching sessions and the sales of the Obsidian Starter Kit rising, I've made >$1K of revenue in the past 30 days.

This week I've continued working on the Obsidian Publisher plugin. I'm happy to announce that it is now able to publish images in addition to publishing and updating posts. When a note gets published, all the embedded images are automatically uploaded to Cloudinary. Now, I am working on handling the links between notes. I've analyzed the feature using Obsidian's Canvas:

Based on the graph of notes on the left, the goal of the plugin is to publish interconnected posts on different target platforms. For now, I'm focusing on Ghost as it is my main target, but I plan on adding support for Substack, Medium and LinkedIn later on. My goal is simple: write once, publish anywhere.

During my last coaching sessions, I realized that beyond being useful to me, this can also be very valuable for other authors. For this reason, I might need to start thinking about ways to monetize this project.

New articles

This week, I've published an article discussing why and how to better communicate with our future selves:

How to communicate with your future self
Most people struggle to communicate with others. Sometimes they realize, sometimes they don’t. But many would also benefit from better communicating with their future self. Here’s why it matters, and how to do it.

Quotes of the week

  • "You either succeed or you learn"
  • "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast"
