BookOrbit
Canonical version: BookOrbit.
BookOrbit is a self-hosted, open-source library and reading platform for ebooks, audiobooks, and comics. Think of it as your own private digital library: multi-format readers built into the browser, automated metadata management, reading analytics, and multi-user support with SSO. No subscription, your files on your hardware.
The features that make it stand out in the self-hosted library space:
- Device sync — native synchronization with Kobo e-readers and KOReader, so reading progress follows you between devices.
- Private OPDS catalogs — share your library with reading apps and family members over the standard catalog protocol.
- All formats in one place — ebooks, audiobooks, AND comics, where most alternatives specialize in one.
Deployment is Docker: a PostgreSQL container (pgvector image) plus the BookOrbit app container.
