Remotely Save plugin for Obsidian

Canonical version: Remotely Save plugin for Obsidian.

Remotely Save, synchronizes an Obsidian vault with cloud storage you already have: Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, any WebDAV server, or S3-compatible object storage (AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, MinIO, Backblaze B2, and similar). It is a lightweight alternative to Obsidian Sync for people who prefer to keep their files in a general-purpose cloud account.

Unlike real-time sync solutions, Remotely Save works periodically: sync runs on demand, on a schedule, or on events like opening the app, comparing local and remote state and transferring the differences. Optional end-to-end encryption protects note content from the storage provider. Desktop and mobile are both supported, which makes it a common choice for getting a vault onto iOS and Android without paying for a dedicated sync service.

In a vault workflow it doubles as an automated off-site backup: every sync leaves a full copy of the vault in the cloud account, and because the remote side is plain files (or encrypted blobs) in commodity storage, other tools and scripts can consume or archive the same data independently of Obsidian.
