I've just launched a new News page on my blog and a matching newsletter: DeveloPassion's News Flash.
Why a News page
I've been publishing everything on my public notes for a while; newsletters and articles included, then cross-posting to different places. The problem is that my public notes are a bit of a black box. There are over 10,000 notes in there, and I publish very regularly; sometimes several times a day.
That's a lot of valuable information buried in a graph most people will never discover. And it's sad, because there's a ton of valuable information hidden in there.
The News page fixes that. From now on, I'll cross-post notes I find worthy of broader reach to dsebastien.net/news/. Short updates, quick takes, interesting links, small discoveries.
My notes website will remain the closest mirror to my own knowledge base. The News page is the discovery surface on top.
Why an additional newsletter
Not everyone wants to check a feed or Web page every day. DeveloPassion's News Flash is an opt-out companion to the News page.
I hand-pick which news posts are worth sending by e-mail, so the signal stays high and the cadence stays sane (i.e., I don't want to spam your inbox). So the flow will be as follows: My own notes > (first filter) > My public notes > (second filter) > My news page > (third filter) > the News Flash Newsletter.
If you're already subscribed to any of my newsletters, you've been opted in automatically. If you'd rather not receive these short updates, two easy ways out:
- From your account page on my website: uncheck "DeveloPassion's News Flash" in your newsletter preferences.
- Or click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any News Flash email.
You'll keep receiving every other newsletter you're subscribed to either way.
